Concealer Guide

thedaintydaisiesLet’s talk concealer. I’m not always adventurous with all makeup, but with concealer I am! I love seeing if products actually cover up all those imperfections. I chose three of my favorites (and highly hyped products) to talk about today!

Maybelline Age Rewind ($8)(Drugstores/Target)

When you use this concealer for the first time you will have to twist it a million times for it to come out. My advice is that when you think you’ve twisted too much, keep twisting. Then after that, each successive use doesn’t need to be twisted nearly as much. Just gotta get the thing going. The actual concealer comes out of sponge. It has a chalky consistency that is super creamy, so it never flakes on dry skin. I love this concealer for everything. It’s specifically made for under eyes, but I say: don’t stop there! It’s a treatment concealer, meaning clinically it’s supposed to lighten your under eyes, though I’m not sure if that’s true. I typically use it under my eyes and on my nose. But if you have clear enough skin that you can just get away with wearing concealer, this is a great pick! It can be used everywhere and blends wonderfully!

NARS Creamy Concealer ($29)(Sephora)

I’m pretty sure this is the most hyped concealer to date. I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon and try it out myself. But honestly, it’s not anything special. It’s definitely thick and has that typical concealer consistency. I prefer to use it on blemishes as opposed to uneven skin tone. If you get the correct color for your complexion, it will blend and cover great. Overall, I just don’t think it’s worth the hype. I’ll continue to use it though after spending almost thirty bucks on one product

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer ($7)(Drugstores)

This concealer has been around awhile and I know I’ve gone through more than a few containers. It’s a hightlighting concealer, which means it is used to cover and brighten uneven or dark areas. It’s also a twist tube and requires a lot of twisting at first. But this concealer has more of a liquid consistency than the two concealers described above. Like a thick liquid. I like to use it in the inner corners of my eyes and on my cheek bones. It’s a concealer and highlighter all in one.
